One of the few things that can get me to pull over aside from a car failure or a bee in the car...

Night shifts... it's like chewing on glass shards.

Yeah. It's been a while since I wrote last. Many appologies.

Where work is concerned I'm still struggling through the transition from full time chat agent to phone agent. I use the term phone agent lightly. As it is I'm doing more abuse and chat support than phone support... Which is good in my opinion. The funny thing is that it is negatively affecting my stats because it looks like I'm not adhering to my schedule. They are aware of the issues that me helping abuse and chats is causing but there isn't much they can do about it. Where I work you can actually get in trouble for helping other sections... I'm not going to complain to them because I really don't care. I like helping with chats and abuse. The downside is that if my adherence is not high enough I don't get the schedule's that I want. Which means that I don't get to see my beautiful girlfriend Christine. This place I work for gives with one hand and fists you with the other.

That being said I have been on evenings for the past week and a bit and it has completely sapped my creativity. I have no urge to write anything when I get home and there's only so much you can photograph in the dark before people start thinking you are morbid.

Half-Life 2 came out and I bought the collector's edition. It came with a nice t-shirt that will mean nothing to everyone except the other geeks. This game was worth the wait. I found it extremely engrossing and have found myself spending hour revelling in the details of the game and it's outstanding story. If you life first person shooters you should defenitely pick up at least the standard edition. It comes on five cdroms whereas the collector's edition I bought comes on a DVD. It includes the original half-life revamped using the new engine and Counter-strike Source. Sweet.

More Aurora action!

The sky is burning!

This was taken yesterday. I used photoshop to bring out some of the colour. The grain is caused because I had my camera set at iso1600 and I was playing around. This is the first night shot that I have taken that worked out right. I just wish I had been able to snap this shot with a shorter exposure time. Would have made the aurora more sharp. As it is it almost looks blurred because it was constantly shifting while I took the photo.

Commenting system

I've decided to use the Blogger commenting system. I had paid to use Ennetation a year ago and I was happy until recently. I started getting spam in my comments. I realize that some asshole created a bot to fill out forms and that Ennetation almost certainly has no control over it. The thing is that the blogger system makes it much easier to locate and remove offending messages should I get any. It also makes it a little harder for spammer assholes to use bots.

That being said, when you comment now it will load the article again with the add comment link at the bottom. When you click on that you will be brought to a page asking you to log in. If you have a Blogger account you can log in if you want. If not you can comment anonymously. You can easily sign up for a free Blogger account and I would recommend that you do. Either that or make sure you sign your anonymous comment so I know who made it.

I've now done almost two whole weeks of phones (a week before my vacation and almost a week since my vacation ended). There has only been one shift where I have not been moved back to chats or abuse e-mail. So I was moved only to be moved back because I'm needed. Being in management must be so easy... It doesn't seem to require any thinking.
