Bellows!!!

Experimenting with bellows. Essentiall it just allows you to take awesome macro shots. This is with the bellows expanded only about a quarter. I use my watch a lot for these shots because there's a lot of fine detail on it.

Here are the bellow expanded to half. It's a little blurry but I'm still learning.

More Mikey

In case you haven't got it yet... I love cats and especially kittens. I think everyone loves kittens. Here is mikey sleeping the other day.

When I got home from work tonight I could hear him whining in the basement. When we can't pay attention to him or if we aren't around we keep him in the downstairs bathroom. It's pretty big so he's got it good. Anyways, I went down and got him to keep him company. He kept attacking me while I was making my food.

I had to go up and down a few times and he would follow me each time. He always hides under the bench we have on the upstairs landing before venturing the rest of the way down after you.

Even after playing with hime for an hour until he was pooped and fell asleep on me for another hour he still started meowing when I put him back downstairs. He just sits there looking up at you while you close the door to the room.

My parents bought a cat today. He's named Mikey after the first cat we ever had. He's the same colour but his eyes are dark green. The original Mikey had blue eyes.

Commenting

I've switched back to my old commenting system. Apparently they have blocked a lot of the spam and have made it easier to report. So I will try it out and see how it goes. Sadly the Google commenting system is bereft of features.

Some time off

Christine and I had a nice little getaway this weekend. We went to this auberge (an inn) in St-Agathe Des Monts. It’s a nice town in Quebec. This place has nice scenery, themed inns and a street that has like 6 “adult” stores on it. Considering that this town only has five real roads I would say that’s a lot of sex shops. Anyways, the place we stayed was called “Aux nuits de rêve”. Essentially dream nights.

The people who own the inn have basically converted the main floor of their house in to theme rooms. Christine and I stayed in the Tarzan and Jane room. It’s expensive but I would recommend it for anyone feeling a little adventuresome.

Because we stayed two nights they included a spa day at Ofuro Spa. It's inspired by traditional Japanese spas.

If you go on your own they charge thirty five dollars for entrance. This covers access to the dry sauna, steam room, two cold pools, a nice little river area and two hot tubs. They called what we got Thermo-therapy. Maybe it's all bullshit but whatever. It was relaxing. You sit in the sauna or steam room for about five minutes and you sweat like a pig. Then you go in to one of the cold pools or the rivers for a couple of minutes and then you sit in a hot tub for fifteen minutes. They told us to cycle through about three or four times. It doesn't sound like much but it was super relaxing. It's set on the side of a mountain in the deep forests of Quebec. If that doesn't scream Japanese then I don't know what does.

The spa also offers a number of other spa things you pay extra for such as massages and manicures and all that other spa shit. I just enjoyed spending some nice relaxing time with my favorite lady.

After our relaxing day we decided to do some shopping. We needed a snack after all that work we did at the spa. The parking lot we stopped in had a building in it. It caught my eye for some reason. I can't explain why. I just needed to photograph it.

We spent the rest of our day in a paddle boat exploring the lake. We had worked up quite the appetite so we went to a pizza place that cooks them on a wood fired stove. It was pretty good. Here's a shot from the corner where the pizza place is.

This is a cool shot I took from the dock at the inn.

That concludes the longest blog entry I have ever done.

A busy day.

Today John, Curtis and I went rock climbing in the afternoon. I'm not bad. Just need to do it more to work out the needed muscles. After that we went and ate some fish thing at Kelsey's. It was okay but there was a lot of bone. Sean does not like bone in his mouth.

After eating we decided to do a little mountain biking. I have some pretty sweet trails near my house. On one of the runs we did we found thins turtle laying eggs right next to the path. I hope no little Orleans shitheads disturb it.

Now I'm off to get ready for a congratulatory gathering for Dom and Curtis as they have managed to escape from the grips of hell.

A tulip.

Fly.

The haze you see was not my attempt at a glamour shot. It's a focus issue. I still have not mastered focusing the the 600mm lens. I thought this was pretty good using ambient light and no tripod.

Relic.

Do you think anything made now would last as long as this radio has? This thing is probably carved from stone.
