What a difference!

My first day went well! I'm told that all the others had a similar experience on their first day. Nothing was behaving the way it should and it wasn't because of me sucking. Tomorrow I hope to get it all working and have my test rig up and running so I can learn like hell. What a difference though! I'm treated like an adult!

Christine made some dinner and then we hung out... Day one in the new job has drained me. Now I sleep.

Done!!!

That's it! Done at Convergys! Today was my last day and despite all the urging to do otherwise I left quietly. Monday is my first day at Talkswitch. I can't wait!

Empty lot!

This is the future site of our house! We're told the foundation could be put in as late as December first but we hope it's sooner... we've just her bad things about foundations that were poured during the winter. I intend to document every step that I can of the build process without violating the agreement to stay off the property of course!

New photo album

So I finally have a good photo album to use to display my photos. Thanks to Sina from work. He helped get this album working while I did his chats.

You can find it here. I will be adding to it regularly. You can also find a link to it in my links under Intra.

I got the job!

Good news folks! I got one of the jobs I applied for! As of October thirty first I will officially be a Talkswitch employee! I'm really looking forward to it! Also, IBM contacted me to let me know they had picked someone else for the job. Which is fine with me. I get to work with a few friends that shared good times with me at CVG. It's going to be great to have my own desk! Just mine!

Saw a link on Fark today that had cool photos taken with longer exposure and swinging that camera through the air. I thought I would give it a try. I won't do it again as swinging my camera around in the air on purpose made me feel faint...

Rust warranty...

The dealership has had my car for a week now. I finally got them to fix all the rust. Turns out that I was explained the rust warranty wrong when I bought the car. If I had read the warranty paper better I would have discovered that my rust was indeed not covered. Only "Penetrating body rust" is covered.

In a good faith gesture the dealership decided to split the cost of doing the repairs with me. I was told the total would not exceed three hundred dollars even if it turned out to cost more than six hundred. Three of four days he said.

I want my car back. The rental they gave me has no balls at all and doesn't have my sub in the trunk. I miss my bass.

Christine made the joke that they might be "Pimping my Ride". I laughed at that and yet secretly hope... It was just a few spots of seemingly minor damage. Why the hell is taking so long do you think? I called on Friday and he told me:"They finished all the work and then Bob pulled the carpet back in the trunk and found rust inside." A little confused I asked "Doesn't that mean that it was penetrating rust and that the rust warranty should cover it after all?" He assured me that it wasn't "penetrating rust" as the rust warranty company defined it and that the car was now with GM body work specialists. We talked a bit longer but because I was driving I didn't follow very well... I just caught him mentioning that it could possibly be free... I ended the call and merged in to traffic on the four seventeen.

On another note... I hope to have some good news to report to you all in the upcoming week. All five of you keep your fingers crossed for me.
