Storm!

This is the first time I've capured lightening. Here's the kicker, I caught two with my digital and this is actually a composite of the two. Awesome.

A week off

This is the last evening of my week off and I figured I would fill you in on what Christine and I did.

Day one was July first. Canada Day. During the Day I helped my friend Curtis move in to his new apartment. It's nice little place just outside the downtown core. That evening Christine and I went to watch the fireworks with our friend. I'm not big on the giant parties with drunk people who end up relieving themselves on our War Memorial. All I will say on that subject is that yeah, stupid assholes pissing on the monument. No, they weren't pissing on our fallen countrymen and women. They were doing what really drunk people do. Being stupid and pissing on things.

Sunday Christine and I drove up to my uncle and aunts' yacht to spend Sunday and Monday. We were there with my Aunt, Uncle, my Mom and my Dad. I must say it's a really nice boat. Unfortunately it was too windy Sunday so we spent the day lounging around and swimming. I worked on my sun burn and went tubing. Their Seadoo has more horsepower than my car.

The evening consisted of Sambuca and Baileys.

Then sleep. I had never been drunk on a boat. I had never been drunk and then slept on a boat. It was great. When I went to bed I fell asleep in what must have been the worst position possible and then did not move all night. I woke up feeling like I had been murdered repeatedly for six hours. It was great.

Monday was nice so we went out in to the Thousand Islands. Their marina is right near Brockville, Ontario. It's a really nice area.

I worked on my burn some more and took in the scenery. I say work on my burn because that's all my skin can do. Even with spf one thousand on. I'm super white.

In the thousand islands there's this castle called Boldt Castle I believe. I could always Google it but it's late and I don't feel like it. Apparenlty this rich guy started building it for his wife. Tragically she died and he abandoned the project. Someone else took it up years later and is still in the process of restoring it. Apparently while it was abandoned people would go in and party. That would be sweet. A party in an abandoned castle... We didn't visit it because it would have required going through US customs. Fuck that. Both Canadian and US customs always make me feel like I've committed a crime and they just caught me. I know I know. There are other groups that get it harder than my pampered white ass when going through customs.

Later in the week I helped Dom take some head shots for some CBC thing he's involved with. I don't think we did very well with that but I did get an interesting shot that he will be able to use if he ever gets around to taking over the world. Dom. The people's leader.

This here is another shot I took while trying to get passable photos of Dom. I figured I would abuse a sepia effect to try and pass this off as artsy. Hey. I sold a photo for fifty bucks. That means I now have an artist certificate.

This last on was taken today (Sunday the ninth), the last day of my holidays. Christine and I were putting together our grocery list for the week. This it the view out our living room window. I like it for some reason.
