Canadian DMCA

I saw this on Boingboing.net . Some asshat MP is trying to turn Canada in to the US where copyright is concerned.

Go here and choose your province and then your MP. The letter against it is all written up to submit to your member of parliament. You just enter your name and address and then send it in to register your stance against americanizing Canadian copyright laws. The main push is to prevent legislation that would make it illegal to circumvent DRM on your legally owned media. This is a step back. It would open us up to being sued a la RIAA. TAKE A STAND!

We seriously need to stop this kind of shitty reform.

Here is what I got back from the Prime Minister's office:

Dear Mr. Sean:

On behalf of the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, I would like to thank you for your e-mail, in which you raised an issue which falls within the portfolio of the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of Industry. The Prime Minister always appreciates receiving correspondence on subjects of importance to Canadians.

Please be assured that the statements you made have been carefully reviewed. I have taken the liberty of forwarding your e-mail to Minister Bernier, so that he too may be made aware of your comments. I am certain that the Minister will give your views every consideration. For more information on the Government's initiatives, you may wish to visit the Prime Minister's Web site, at www.pm.gc.ca.

Clock and bench

One of these is the beautiful clock my Grandfather made for us and the other is my workbench. Can you guess which one is which?

Well...

How do you follow up on my last two posts?

I had a dream last night. My Dad was driving his car and he was speeding. It's this area in Orleans that he always tells me to slow down in because cops are frequently there pulling people over. So yeah, he's speeding and I see a cop pull out behind us. Instead of turning on his lights and siren he starts honking at us. HONK HONKHONKHONK HONK. I remember thinking it was funny when I woke up because the honking sounded more like he was trying to let us know our muffler was loose or something.

I'll have some pictures later. My grandfather made a beautiful clock for our house before he passed away and I have finished my work bench. They are both super awesome.
